Philippians 4:11–13 ERV: I am telling you this, but not because I need something. I have learned to be satisfied with what I have and with whatever happens. I know how to live when I am poor and when I have plenty. I have learned the secret of how to live through any kind of situation, when I have enough to eat or when I am hungry, when I have everything, I need or when I have nothing. Christ is the one who gives me the strength I need to do whatever I must do.
Paul learned contentment in every season, when he had plenty and when he had little. His secret wasn’t circumstances but Christ’s strength living in him. That means our peace and steadiness don’t depend on bank accounts, comfort, or applause; they depend on Jesus who equips us to stand firm, serve faithfully, and keep our eyes on eternity. Let this truth shape one choice today: when you feel anxious about lack or tempted to boast in plenty, pause and ask Christ for the strength to respond with gratitude and generosity.
Dear Blessed Lord Jesus, teach me contentment in every season. When I’m lacking, give me trust; when I’m blessed, give me humility. Strengthen me by Your power so I can face today with courage and joy. Love You, thank You, praise You and give You all the honor and glory in Your Mighty Precious Name Amen.
