“So, all the people of Israel should know this for certain: God has made Jesus to be Lord and Messiah. He is the man you nailed to the cross!” When the people heard this, they felt very, very sorry. They asked Peter and the other apostles, “Brothers, what should we do?” Peter said to them, “Change your hearts and lives and be baptized, each one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ. Peter declares that God has made Jesus both Lord and Christ; the people are called to repent and be baptized for the forgiveness of sins. When Peter says God made Jesus both Lord and Christ, he points to Jesus’ authority and God’s anointing. That means Jesus is not only Savior but the rightful ruler of our lives. Repentance is the heart’s honest turn away from what separates us from God; baptism is the outward sign of that inward change. Together they mark the beginning of a life lived under Jesus’ loving rule. Remember: God’s action in raising and exalting Jesus invites us into forgiveness, new life, and the gift of the Spirit. Paul’s words are a steadying call to forward motion. Life will pull us in many directions, regret about the past, anxiety about the future, distractions that promise quick satisfaction. Paul refuses to be stalled. He keeps his eyes on a single, upward goal: the calling God has placed on his life through Christ. That calling isn’t vague ambition; it’s a relationship-shaped purpose that reshapes how we live today. Pressing on means choosing hope over hesitation, obedience over comfort, and perseverance over giving up. It’s not a one-time sprint but a daily posture: get up, refocus, take the next faithful step. When you feel worn or uncertain, remember that the prize is not merely achievement but deeper union with Christ, so every small step toward Him matters.

Name one small, concrete step you can take today that moves you toward God’s calling (a conversation, an act of service, a time of prayer).

When distractions come, gently return your attention to that step and keep going.

But some people did accept him. They believed in him, and he gave them the right to become children of God. They became God’s children, but not in the way babies are usually born. It was not because of any human desire or plan. They were born from God himself. The Word became a man and lived among us. We saw his divine greatness, the greatness that belongs to the only Son of the Father. The Word was full of grace and truth. If you’re feeling unseen or unworthy today, remember that your identity is rooted in being loved and adopted by God, not in performance or approval.

Dear Blessed Lord Jesus, thank You and praise You that You are the Spirit who brings freedom. Break every chain that keeps me from living fully for You. I really wished someone taught this a long time ago. I really didn’t grasp it growing up. Jesus promises a living presence with every believer: the Holy Spirit is not a distant idea but a present Helper who teaches and reminds. This promise means you are never left to rely only on your own memory, wisdom, or strength. When you read Scripture, pray, or face decisions, the Spirit gently brings Jesus’ words and wisdom back to mind and helps you apply them in the moment. That teaching is practical and personal, it shapes how you love, speak, and serve others, equipping you to be God’s presence in ordinary encounters. The one thing I did learn growing up is the Holy Spirit speaks what we don’t know what to speak. When I couldn’t talk Mimi told me this:

“In moments of uncertainty, grief, or awkward silence, the Spirit supplies the words, the comfort, and the courage we lack so others can meet Jesus through our presence.” ‘Mimi Reming’ Now 97 years old and is the most beautiful woman with a beautiful heart.

Trust the Spirit’s timing. Sometimes the Spirit teaches immediately; sometimes He brings truth back slowly as you need it.

Learning is relational. The Spirit teaches “in Jesus’ name” not as abstract doctrine but as living relationship with Christ.

Holy Spirit, be my voice and my courage. When I don’t know what to say, speak through me. Give me simple words, steady presence, and a heart ready to listen so others meet Jesus in the moment. The Spirit of the Lord God is on me. The Lord has chosen me to tell good news to the poor and to comfort those who are sad. He sent me to tell the captives and prisoners that they have been set free. Isaiah 61:1

God’s heart is for the broken and the lost. Isaiah speaks of one anointed to bring good news, freedom, healing, and comfort. God looks to presence before persuasion. That anointing isn’t only for clergy or specialists; it shapes how every follower lives: to introduce God by being present. First noticing hurts, carrying hope, and bringing God’s presence into ordinary conversations. When you meet someone, your first ministry is to see them and listen. Prayer and practical help flow naturally from a posture of compassion. Trust that small acts of kindness and a willingness to pray open doors for God’s Spirit to work.

Ask permission before praying. A simple, “May I pray for you?” honors dignity.

Can I reach out to you? It’s out of respect and care. If not, that’s perfectly fine. You can always keep praying for the person and catch up at church.

Offer concrete help, such as a meal, a phone call, or a resource.

Be a listening ear. Let them tell their story without rushing to fix it.

Share briefly how God has helped you if it fits the moment.

Respect boundaries. If they decline, bless them and leave the door open. Pray for them from your heart.

Dear Blessed Lord Jesus, thank You and praise You for sending us to bring hope. Fill me with compassion and courage to notice those who are hurting. Give me words of grace, ears to listen, and hands to help. Use my simple offers of prayer and care to point others to Your love. This verse reminds us that the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of truth who is not only with us but comes to dwell in us. This means God’s presence is personal and ongoing, He accompanies, comforts, and guides our thoughts and choices. When we feel uncertain or alone, the Spirit brings clarity, courage, and the quiet assurance that we are known and led. Practice pausing each day to listen for that inner guidance and to obey the small promptings of love and truth.

Dear Blessed Lord Jesus, thank You and praise You for sending the Spirit of truth to be with me and to live in me. Fill me now with Your presence; open my ears to hear Your guidance, steady my heart with Your peace, and empower me to live in love and truth.
