Galatians 5:22-23 ERV: But the fruit that the Spirit produces in a person’s life is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these kinds of things.
The Spirit’s fruit is what shows who we are becoming. These nine qualities, love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self‑control, aren’t a checklist to earn God’s favor. They’re the natural growth that happens when we stay connected to Jesus and let the Holy Spirit shape our hearts. Think of a tree: it doesn’t try to produce fruit; it draws life from deep roots and the fruit follows. When you choose daily to remain in Christ (through prayer, Scripture, and obedience), the Spirit’s life flows through you and these qualities begin to appear in small, ordinary ways, an extra measure of patience with a child, a gentle word to someone hurting, a faithful step when things are uncertain. Pick one fruit this week. Notice moments when the Spirit gives you a chance to practice it. Celebrate small wins and ask God to keep pruning what gets in the way.
Dear Blessed Lord Jesus, thank You and praise You for the Spirit who grows Your life in me. Help me stay rooted in You so love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self‑control can grow through my words and actions. Give me eyes to see the small chances You give me today to bear Your fruit. Love You, thank You, praise You and give You all the honor and glory in Your Mighty Precious Name Lord Jesus Amen.
