When Jesus saw the crowds of people, he felt sorry for them. They had trouble in their minds. They had nobody to help them. Jesus thought, ‘These people are like sheep that have nobody to take care of them.’  Then Jesus said to his disciples, ‘Many people are ready to believe God’s message. They are like crops in the fields at harvest time. But there are very few workers to bring in the crops. So, pray to God to send out workers. The field and the crops belong to him.’ Matthew 9:36-38 Easy

Jesus looked at the crowds and felt deep compassion for people who were like sheep without a shepherd. His response shows that compassion moves beyond feeling to action: He sees need, grieves over it, and calls for help to meet it. The harvest is plentiful, there are many who need care, truth, and hope, but the laborers are few; we are invited to pray for workers and to be willing to go where the need is. Today, let your heart be tuned to the needs around you and let compassion shape your choices.

Dear Blessed Lord Jesus, thank You and praise You for Your compassion that sees and cares for every hurting person. Give us hearts like Yours, raise up and send out workers, and make us willing instruments of Your love and truth. Empower our hands to serve and our words to bring hope. Love You, thank You, praise You and give You all the honor and glory in Your Precious Mighty Namer Amen and Amen.
