Psalm 40:1-3: I waited patiently for the Lord; he turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand.

Psalm 34 invites us to praise God continually for his deliverance and goodness, to seek him with humility, and to trust that he hears and protects those who fear him. It calls us to taste and see the Lord’s goodness, to turn from evil, and to live in reverent dependence on God’s care and rescue.
