Psalm 121

Jesus stretched out His hand and touched him, saying, “I am willing; be clean.” And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.

“He looked around at them in anger and, deeply distressed at their stubborn hearts.” (Mark 3:5)
Holy tension, grief and anger held together by love, as Jesus confronts hardened hearts while still choosing to heal. Jesus is in the synagogue, watching leaders value rules over people. His anger is not reckless; it is righteous grief. He is not offended for Himself, He is wounded by their refusal to care. Then, without hesitation, He heals the man with the withered hand anyway. This teaches us that compassion does not wait for permission, and love does not retreat just because resistance is present. Jesus feels deeply, anger and sorrow can coexist without sin. Hard hearts grieve Him more than broken bodies. Healing is an act of defiance against indifference.
Father God, You see what is withered and what is hardened. You grieve when love is withheld and mercy is delayed. Soften my heart where fear or habit has made it rigid. Teach me to choose compassion even when it costs comfort. Stretch out what has grown stiff in me and let Your healing move through my hands. “But I want you to know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins.” (Matthew 9:6)

Instead of arguing theology, He demonstrates it. Forgiveness is unseen, but healing is undeniable. When the paralyzed man rises, Jesus proves that mercy is not theoretical, it moves bodies, restores dignity, and sends people home changed. This verse reminds us that authority rooted in compassion always brings restoration, not control. Forgiveness is not passive, it lifts, restores, and sends us forward. Jesus doesn’t just speak authority, He exercises it for the sake of the broken. Healing follows forgiveness, not as a reward, but as a revelation of grace already given.
Father God, You, see what others doubt and touch what others cannot. Thank You for authority that heals, forgives, and restores. Help me trust Your mercy even when I cannot yet see the outcome. They had fished all night and caught nothing. One more try, at Jesus’ word, changed everything. The miracle wasn’t in the nets, it was in the obedience. Sometimes God fills what we thought was already empty for good.

Matthew 8:15 (KJV) “And he touched her hand, and the fever left her: and she arose, and ministered unto them.”
This clearly shows a woman ministering to others, and it does so without apology or qualification. A woman was healed by Jesus, personally, tenderly, by touch. She immediately ministered, the Greek word used here (diakoneō) is the same root used for service, care, and ministry throughout the New Testament.
Her service is recorded, not minimized, Scripture does not say she “helped quietly” or “served in the background.” It names her action as ministry. Jesus received her ministry. He did not stop her, correct her, or redirect her. Her response models discipleship: healing, rising and serving.This moment happens before formal church structures existed, ministry here is relational, responsive, and Spirit-led.Women ministering is not a later accommodation or cultural concession. It is present where Jesus is present. He heals women, honors their service, and allows their ministry to stand as testimony. Matthew 8:15; doesn’t argue. It simply shows.

I tell you, many people will come from all over the world to take their place in the kingdom of heaven. There they will sit down to eat with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Father God, thank You that Your kingdom is open to all who come in humble faith. Teach us to trust Your word completely, without pride or assumption. Thank You for Your healing hands. Give us hearts that believe You are able, even from a distance, and help us welcome others to Your table with grace and love.
