Always be full of joy. Never stop praying. Whatever happens, always be thankful. This is how God wants you to live in Christ Jesus. Don’t stop the work of the Holy Spirit. Don’t treat prophecy like something that is not important. But test everything. Keep what is good, and stay away from everything that is evil. We pray that God himself, the God of peace, will make you pure—belonging only to him. We pray that your whole self—spirit, soul, and body—will be kept safe and be blameless when our Lord Jesus Christ comes. The one who chose you will do that for you. You can trust him. “Rejoice always” is a call to a steady posture of the heart, not a demand to feel happy every moment. It invites us to root our joy in God’s unchanging presence and promises, so that even in hardship we can find reasons to praise, hope, and trust. Practically, this means choosing gratitude, remembering God’s faithfulness, and letting joy shape how we respond to life.

“The Lord laughs” or “the Lord scoffs” at the wicked, it is not a laugh of amusement in the human sense. Instead, it is a holy, sovereign response that reveals God’s justice, power, and certainty over evil.

Psalm 37:13 ERV: But our Lord will laugh at them. He will make sure they get what they deserve. “God’s laughter is not mockery but sovereign assurance. He sees the end of every scheme and knows the timetable of justice, so the temporary success of the wicked does not unsettle Him. That truth frees us from envy and anxious striving: we are invited to trust God’s timing, keep doing what is right, and rest in His steady rule. Rather than celebrating another’s fall, the psalm calls us to patient faithfulness and to leave final judgment in God’s hands. He remains at peace even in chaos. I want to learn that from God.

Dear Blessed Lord Jesus, thank You that nothing is hidden from You and that Your justice is sure. Give me patience to trust Your timing, courage to live righteously, and a heart that refuses revenge. Keep me humble in prosperity and steady in trial, resting in Your sovereign care. I really need this verse in the bible today.  Trust the Lord completely, and don’t depend on your own knowledge. Proverbs 3:5 ERV

This verse calls us to place our whole heart in God’s care rather than depending on our limited understanding. When decisions feel confusing or fear nudges us to control outcomes, surrender becomes an act of faith: we choose God’s wisdom over our assumptions. Practically, this looks like pausing for prayer, listening for God’s gentle guidance, and taking the next step even when the path isn’t fully clear. His anger lasts for a little while, but then his kindness brings life. The night may be filled with tears, but in the morning we can sing for joy! Psalm 30:5

Life brings seasons of pain and weeping, but God’s compassion turns our sorrow into song. The briefness of His anger reminds us that discipline or hardship is not the final word; His kindness restores and gives life, and what feels like a long night will yield a morning of joy. Let this truth steady your heart today: grief is real, but it is not permanent. God is working toward renewal and praise.

Dear Blessed Lord Jesus, thank You for Your mercy. When I am weighed down by tears, remind me that Your kindness brings life and that morning follows the night. Soften my heart where I am hardened, lift my eyes where I am weary, and give me a song of joy to sing. Help me trust Your timing and rest in Your faithful love. Before the years of famine arrived, Joseph became the father of two sons. Asenath, daughter of Potiphera, a priest in Heliopolis, was their mother.  Joseph called his firstborn son Manasseh. Joseph said, ‘God has made me forget all the trouble that my family has given to me.’ Genesis 41:50-51 ERV

Before the famine, Joseph’s life was marked by loss, exile, and unexpected elevation. When he names his firstborn Manasseh, a name that points to forgetting past pain, he acknowledges God’s work of turning sorrow into a fresh start. This small family moment shows a larger truth: God provides new life and purpose even in seasons of hardship, and remembering God’s faithfulness helps us move from what was broken to what is being restored.

Dear Blessed Lord Jesus, thank You and praise You for turning hard seasons into new beginnings. Help me to trust Your provision, to let go of past hurts, and to receive the hope You bring today.  But you should do this: “If you have enemies who are hungry, give them something to eat. If you have enemies who are thirsty, give them something to drink. In doing this you will make them feel ashamed. “Don’t let evil defeat you but defeat evil by doing good.” Romans 12:20-21

These verses call us to break the cycle of harm by answering evil with good. When an enemy is hungry, feed them; when thirsty, give them drink, small acts that refuse revenge and invite transformation. Trusting God to repay frees us from bitterness and lets grace reshape relationships; overcoming evil with good is both a witness and a way of life.

Dear Blessed Lord Jesus, give me the courage to meet wrong with mercy and the strength to do good when I am hurt. Proverbs 21:15 — “When justice is done, it brings joy to the righteous but terror to evildoers.” This proverb links the righting of wrongs with relief for the innocent and consequence for the guilty.

Justice is a reflection of God’s character. When we read passages about punishment and judgment, the Bible is not celebrating vengeance so much as affirming that God’s holiness will not allow persistent evil to stand unaddressed. At the same time Scripture balances justice with mercy: God calls His people to act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly (Micah 6:8). Holding both truths, that wrong will be accounted for and that mercy is offered, keeps our hearts from hardening and moves us toward compassionate action for victims and repentance for offenders.

Lord Jesus, thank You and praise You for the freedom You won for me. Help me to live in the truth that sets me free, to resist anything that would enslave my heart, and to use my liberty to serve others in love. Fill me with Your Spirit so my freedom bears fruit for Your kingdom. Love You, thank You, praise You and give You all the honor and glory in Your Precious Name Amen.

Romans 12:9 ERV:  Your love must be real. Hate what is evil. Do only what is good.

This verse calls us to a love that is honest and active: Real love that refuses hypocrisy, rejects what is evil, and pursues what is good. Living this way means our faith shows in everyday choices, how we speak, whom we defend, and the small mercies we offer. Let your love be visible, your judgment against evil steady, and your hands busy doing good for others.

Dear Blessed Lord Jesus makes my love genuine; give me courage to hate what is evil, to love the sinner like me and the strength to do only what is good. My friends, don’t try to punish anyone who does wrong to you. Wait for God to punish them with his anger. In the Scriptures the Lord says, “I am the one who punishes; I will pay people back.” Romans 12:19 ERV:

Why Romans 12:19 matters! This verse calls us away from the quick satisfaction of retaliation and toward a deeper trust in God’s justice. Refusing to take revenge is not weakness but a courageous surrender: we release the burden of settling scores and let God, who sees every heart, act rightly. In doing so we protect our own souls from bitterness and open space for healing, reconciliation, and the quiet work of grace.

When you feel wronged, breathe, name the hurt, and choose the harder path of trust. Let God be the arbiter; let compassion and restraint shape your response. In that surrender you reflect God’s mercy and keep your life aligned with his peace. Forgive and move on.

Dear Blessed Lord Jesus of justice and mercy, help me to resist the urge for revenge. Give me the strength to leave wrongs in your hands, the patience to wait for your righting, and the grace to live without bitterness. Fill my heart with peace so I may reflect your love to others.
