"Prayer to Care"

Category Archives: Ecclesiastes 3:1-22 NIV

A Time for Everything.
There is a time for everything,
And a season for every activity under the heavens:
A time to be born and a time to die,
A time to plant and a time to uproot,
A time to kill and a time to heal,
A time to tear down and a time to build,
A time to weep and a time to laugh,
A time to mourn and a time to dance,
A time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, A time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,
A time to search and a time to give up,
A time to keep and a time to throw away,
A time to tear and a time to mend,
A time to be silent and a time to speak,
A time to love and a time to hate,
A time for war and a time for peace.
What do workers gain from their toil? I have seen the burden God has laid on the human race. He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end. I know that there is nothing better for people than to be happy and to do good while they live. That each of them may eat and drink, and find satisfaction in all their toil—this is the gift of God. I know that everything God does will endure forever; nothing can be added to it and nothing taken from it. God does it so that people will fear him. Whatever is has already been, and what will be has been before; and God will call the past to account. And I saw something else under the sun: In the place of judgment—wickedness was there, in the place of justice—wickedness was there. I said to myself, “God will bring into judgment both the righteous and the wicked for there will be a time for every activity, a time to judge every deed.” I also said to myself, “As for humans, God tests them so that they may see that they are like the animals. Surely the fate of human beings is like that of the animals; the same fate awaits them both: As one dies, so dies the other. All have the same breath; humans have no advantage over animals. Everything is meaningless. All go to the same place; all come from dust, and to dust all return. Who knows if the human spirit rises upward and if the spirit of the animal goes down into the earth?” So I saw that there is nothing better for a person than to enjoy their work, because that is their lot. For who can bring them to see what will happen after them?

“JOHN 17:1-5”
These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee: As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him. And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent. I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do. And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.

Jesus lifting His eyes to heaven and praying not just for glory, but for eternal connection. This echoes the heart of John 17. Jesus praying for Himself wasn’t an act of selfishness, but of surrender. He knew the cross was near, and in that moment of deep anguish, He turned to the Father God, not to escape, but to glorify. Why did Jesus pray for Himself? He longed to return to the glory He shared with the Father before the world began, a restoration of divine intimacy. He was preparing to fulfill His mission, and He asked the Father to glorify Him so that He could glorify the Father in return. His prayer acknowledged the authority He had been given and the eternal life He was about to offer through His sacrifice. Yes, we should pray for ourselves too. Jesus showed us that even in the shadow of suffering, it’s holy to lift our eyes and ask for strength, clarity, and connection. Praying for ourselves isn’t weakness, it’s trust. It’s saying, “I know where my help comes from.”

Dear Blessed Lord Jesus, good morning. Thank you for the air we breathe, and the new life, each and everyday, Hallelujah! Lord Jesus, I pray that others will come to know Jesus at an early age. Show me what to say to others, in a letter, a phone call or even face to face in a conversation. That will encourage them to love you always and trust you with their lives. I thank you, praise, and give you all the honor and glory Jesus. Amen

Dear Blessed Lord Jesus, thank you for awaken me this morning and calling me to yourself and your word. Spending time with you in prayer and in your word is so important to me as I begin my day. Father, I turn to you now. Teach me a new song, a song that no one can take. A song of joy and peace. Flood my being with your melodious voice. I love you Lord Jesus and thank you, praise and give you all the honor and glory, in Your name. Amen.

Dear Blessed Lord Jesus, good morning. Father, thank you for awakening me to this new day. Lord, from before my birth you have been my God, loving me even before I took my first breath. What a breathtaking thought that is! What a comfort to know that my life is securely in your control and that you are always with me, guiding me and directing me. I praise you, thank you, give you all the honor and glory, for creating me in the image of your wonderful self-Lord Jesus! Amen.

Thou hast beset me behind and before and laid thine hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain unto it. Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence?

Dear Blessed Lord Jesus, good morning. I love you Lord Jesus. Father, give me the ability to love others with your love and to treat people the way I want to be treated. Lord Jesus I thank you that you are the Creator. You understand the works of your hands, and you love us all the same. I’ll never fully understand your love, but I thank you for it nonetheless. I pray that you will show me how to make your role as Creator a living reality to those I love. I thank you, praise and give you all the honor and glory Lord Jesus. Amen.

O LORD, thou hast searched me, and known me. Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off. Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways. For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O LORD, thou knowest it altogether. Thou hast beset me behind and before, and laid thine hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain unto it.

Dear Blessed Lord Jesus, good morning. Thank you for this new day. Father, we need rain. Lord Jesus, thank you for your grace, love, strength and faith. Father, thank you for lips that can be a blessing to others. Let my lips praise you and show your love to others in every word I speak and every smile I give away today. I thank you, praise and give you all the glory and honor Jesus. Amen.

Dear Blessed Lord Jesus, good morning. Thank you so much that you love me unconditionally, Lord Jesus!

Lord Jesus, You have blessed me with life and I don’t know why. I don’t question the reason. This I do know: You’ve given me this precious life not because I am worthy but because you are worthy. I thank you, praise and give you all the honor and glory Jesus. Amen

Dear Blessed Lord Jesus, good morning. Thank you for waking me. Thank you for this new day. Lord Jesus, I pray who ever reads this, guide them to your gift of salvation. I pray that they will come to know you, to love you and to walk close to you throughout their life. May they boldly claim Jesus as their Savior. Guide them as they make choices that have eternal consequences. Help them to follow you each moment of their life. I thank you, praise and give you all the honor and glory Jesus. Amen

Dear Blessed Lord Jesus, good morning. Thank you for life. Thank you that you know me more than anyone does. Lord Jesus, Thank you for sending Your Son, Jesus, that we might have life! Life that is full and fun. And thank you for helping me to learn that there is always time for me to clean up the messes and use the talents, You have given me through Your life for me. I will focus on others as you continue to teach me how. I give you all the glory for it is only through your power that I will be an intentional follower of you. I thank you, praise and give you all the honor and glory Jesus. Amen
