I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth. He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber. Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep. The LORD is thy keeper: the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand. The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night. The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul. The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.
Psalm 121
This psalm is a short, steady assurance that help comes from God, the Creator, who watches without sleeping. It moves from an upward glance for help to concrete promises: protection of steps, preservation of soul, and faithful keeping of daily comings and goings. The tone is calm confidence rather than argument or instruction.
Father God, I love Your creation, it is so beautiful. I will lift my eyes to the hills when I see them in Texas and I will keep pressing forward, trusting that my help comes from You, the Maker of heaven and earth. Guard my steps, keep my soul, and watch over my comings and goings now and always. Love You, thank You, praise You and give You all the honor and glory in Jesus Precious Name Amen.
